Austin's rage redirected to The Kid
Sept. 7, 2006
Stone Cold Steve Austin thought he had all the answers to his problems. In
order to put an end to all the speculation over his ability in the ring, choice
in competition, and overall general disrespect, he challenged former PWF
Champion Excellence to a 60-minute Iron Man match at Fall Battle Fields.
He fell just short in his efforts, but his impressive performance definitely
turned some heads ...
... and then Johnny Walker happened.
Steve Austin entered the Battle Field last night going right after Excellence
again. His anger had once again taken the better of him, and he was
letting it show. While putting all of his attention towards attacking
Excellence upon entry into the match, he failed to pay attention to what was
going on around him ... and got hit by a Blackout from James Ace. Stone
Cold staggered around the ring in a daze after the move and was eliminated soon
after ...
... by Johnny Walker.
The Extreme Champion, known for his fiery passion and taste for the intense,
took another step in trying to make a name for himself in the Professional
Wrestling Federation. As soon as he entered the Battle Field match, he saw
Austin dazed from the Blackout and dropkicked him over the top rope. Walker was eliminated seconds later by Ace for not paying
attention himself, but his statement was already made. Austin had a
brief one, as well.
"That stupid little sum bitch thinks he's gunna humiliate me while the world was
watchin'? What? Don't he know who I am? What? Son, my
name is Stone Cold Steve Austin, and I'm gunna whoop that kid's ass for that." Austin left our interviewer with a middle finger and a smile ...
minus the smile.
The two superstars have faced each other once before, back on May 3 at Wargames earlier this year. Austin managed to pull out a very
tough win in that contest, but even then his anger got the better of him. Frustrated with how impressive Walker had been in the match, Stone Cold grabbed
a chair and threatened to sandwich The Kid's head between it and a ring post.
Luckily, it was stopped before it could happen.
The question remains, though: Will Austin lose his rage like he's been so
known to do, or will Walker be able to capitalize on this opportunity and take that next step to
superstardom? Thrillzone will be where we all find the answer.
