A Road To Perdition "anniversary"
Sept. 10, 2006
Even before the first PWF televised program can take place after Fall Battle Fields,
a match has already been signed for the next pay-per-view blockbuster, Road To
Perdition. If that wasn't enough, PWF owner Eric Bischoff signed the match
himself.
On Oct. 4, Kimona Wanalaya will defend her PWF Women's Championship for the first
time since July against the New Breed's own Alicia Rae.
"I'm happy about it -- to be holding an anniversary of sorts -- at Road To
Perdition." Bischoff, of course, could almost be heard smiling right after making the statement to
ThePWF.com via telephone interview. The anniversary he speaks of references
Kimona winning her title at last year's Road To Perdition in the finals of a six-woman tournament to decide the first-ever Women's Champion. She has been the
champion ever since and is easily the most dominant diva in Federation history.
She was always seen with her title, holding the belt proudly. Kimona's former
love, Chris Jericho, must've secretly been very proud ... until Alicia Rae
literally stole the belt from her a couple of weeks ago.
Mr. Bischoff actually said that the thievery is largely the reason that the match is happening
in the first place. "It's been a while since she's put the belt on the
line, so that alone is a good reason to have a match. And it being almost a
year since she won it is just a bonus, but to me, to have someone steal your belt from you, you would think she'd want
to get it back more than anything. Since she's shown little interest, I'll
make sure she goes after it."
The news would get better, or worse, depending on your point-of-view. This won't
be just any match between the two divas. Kimona and Alicia will be doing battle in a Ladder
match.
"I'm not doing this to be cruel to Kimona," Bischoff said. "I'm a fair man. I'm
doing this to make her work for something she's acting as if she's not concerned
that much about, but should be. It's a little
disheartening to me, and I plan to remedy that."
A lot of people would probably find Mr. Bischoff's behavior strange in this
case, because if this were any other title, he probably would've made Alicia
give it back immediately. When asked why it seemed like he was making
Kimona jump through hoops to get her title back, the president of the PWF
laughed boisterously. "Are you kidding me!? Don't think this is
about Kimona. I should strip of her of the belt right now for refusing to
show any concern over it, but like I said, I'm a fair man, and I'm willing
to give her the opportunity to make up for it. This is about nothing more
than her lack of respect for the Women's Championship, and that's all."
So mark your calendars, PWF fans. Kimona Wanalaya will compete against
Alicia Rae for the Women's Championship in a Ladder match at Road To Perdition. The PWF's trip to
hell has officially begun, and Mr. Bischoff is driving the bus.
