The Crossroads of Tomorrow

(Editor's Note: This article is a ThePWF.com Exclusive.)

Far be it from I, Panjabe T. Ishboo (the T still stands for "Totally Awesome"), to look a gift horse in the mouth. I am pleased with the return of the PWF to the airwaves, just as I am pleased to find that I was not fired in the interim. However, there may be a dark cloud to this most silver of linings. Listen to Panjabe, for he is always right. Even now, one day after the happy occasion of the PWF's return, there is in fact a storm brewing. And not a Lance Storm, although Panjabe is amused to think of Lance Storm running a small brewery out of his basement.

You see, with the lawsuit between Christian and Eric Bischoff finally settled, certain concessions were made by our erstwhile President and Owner. There were several, but the one most important to Panjabe, and the one most important to all of you, is the fact that over the next year, Christian gets to make any three matches he wants. Any three matches. No matter what they are. This troubles me, as it should trouble all of you. We already know that next week on Wargames, Christian intends to announce when he will be challenging for a PWF title of some sort, using one of those three matches. This still leaves two possibly very troublesome matches waiting to see the light of day.

Believe it or not, two matches can mean the world. Two matches could change the entire landscape of the PWF, if made properly. Think about it. It only took one match at WrestleFest II to deprive the world of both Excellence and Mr. Perfect. One match - Lance Storm versus Steve Austin - saw Storm nearly retired, and even when he returned, he was a very different man. In the aftermath of the Hard Time match at La Mala Sombra 2006, Taz found himself bailed out of jail by Ted DiBiase and the official Perfect Team Enforcer for the next three months. When the stars are aligned and preparations are made, a single match can change everything - and Christian, someone we already know is capable of executing a drawn-out plan, gets to make two.

So what matches will he make? How will he once again indelibly etch his mark on the PWF for months, if not years, to come? If you were Christian, what matches would YOU make, with this power? It's a tricky question. Of course, Panjabe has some ideas. A wish list, of sorts.

James Ace versus Raven in a Barbed Wire Match for the PWF Championship
- Hey, why not? Their match at WrestleFest II was a classic display of brutality and hatred, and upping the ante with some barbed wire only ensures that even more chaos will be wrought. Not to mention, if you can then pick up the pieces by immediately putting yourself into a match with the winner of such a bloodbath, so much the better!

Edge & Christian versus Raven & Taz in a Ladder Match for the World Tag Team Championships
- On one side, you have the HWA and SCW Tag Team Championships. On the other, you have the unified PWF and VCW Tag Team Championships. Someone ends up with a lot of gold after this one.

James Ace versus Mike Flynn for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Again, it's one of those situations where each man is walking into the match with a title, and when it's over, the world gets to see just who the very best is. Panjabe would like to see that. Christian might very well like to see that. And I'm sure that Ace and Flynn would like to see that as well.

Christian versus Eric Bischoff for ownership of the PWF and VCW
- It's what Panjabe would do.

Rated R & Steve Austin versus the original Team SEC in a Recoil Match
- Many rivalries settled, right there. Also, big money. Although perhaps not as much as ...

Rated R, Steve Austin, & John Cena versus Christian, Mike Flynn, Raven, & Taz in a Recoil Match
- This one would be hard to top for sheer star power. Again, many rivalries are given the chance to be settled, and it's a chance for Christian specifically to take on two of his biggest detractors in Rated R. The chance to get his hands on James Ace again might even keep Raven from turning on his own team - maybe.

Christian versus Mr. Perfect at WrestleFest III
- Yes, Panjabe admits it, this one is a bit of a pipe dream. Mr. Perfect was released from the PWF less than a week after WrestleFest II last November. However, if he should pop up any time in the next few months, you have to know that Christian would jump on the opportunity to take on the biggest name in our industry on the grandest show of them all. More than any other, this match would be a gamble - the words from Christian concerning Mr. Perfect already have guaranteed that a loss to the two-time former PWF Champion would be devastating to him. Still, Panjabe thinks he would do it, and more to the point, he should.

Eric Bischoff versus Raven in a Hardcore Match
- Again, it's what Panjabe would do in Christian's place. He is an angry young man, and watching his enemy be beaten up by another angry man named Raven could be - what is the word - cathartic.

Christian versus the PWF Champion, ten seconds after the Terminal Solution title match ends for the PWF Championship
- Opportunistic? Absolutely. On the other hand, it's somewhat unlikely. First, Christian seems to have a plan for when he's going to challenge for a PWF title. Second - and more importantly in this case - a victory over Ted DiBiase this week on Wargames puts him into the King of the Ring Tournament, and I can't see him wanting to go into a match even against an exhausted Ace, Raven, or Cena ... after potentially wrestling three matches of his own earlier in the night. On a more traditional Pay-Per-View, though ... champions beware.

Panjabe Ishboo versus the Spirit Squad, Kimberly Page, & Stacy Keibler in a Topless Pudding Gauntlet Match
- Come on, Christian, help a boffo dude out! Think of the ratings!

Well, there you have it. These are just some of the many, many possibilities we could be in for in the upcoming months, as Christian cashes in his matches. Once titles start changing hands, some of the names may change, but the concepts will remain the same. I don't see Christian spending these matches on anything small - whatever matches he makes, they'll be big. Some of the most intriguing possibilities don't even involve him directly ... particularly the Gauntlet Match idea. What will he do with these matches? Only time will tell.

Until then, this is Panjabe Ishboo, saying ... I'm totally serious about that last suggestion.
