Austin, Walker to clash at WrestleFest
Oct. 21, 2007
Just when WrestleFest couldn't get any bigger ...
The greatest PWF event of the year really came to form after this past week's Wargames in Syracuse. Early this morning, ThePWF.com has learned of the eighth match to be added to the show: Intercontinental Champion
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin will defend his title against none other than "The Kid" Johnny Walker!
The young, "never say die" Walker was undoubtedly screwed out of an opportunity
to win the title earlier in the month. This past week, he made that point very clear to Stone Cold. As a result, the champion went into the office of Commissioner Jim Ross this morning to demand
that The Kid be given a shot. Ross happily obliged, predicting it to have a huge possibility to be a show-stealer on November 7.
These two have a history. Back in 2006, it all started in a Champion vs.
Champion match on May 3 that saw Austin take the win with the Stone Cold
Stunner. Immediately after the bell, The Rattlesnake was apparently enraged at
how close Walker had come to beating him and nailed him in the face with the Television Championship
belt. Seconds later, he nearly bashed Walker's head against the steel steps with a chair until other superstars got into the mix.
A few months later at Fall Battle Fields, Walker eliminated Austin from the Battle Field in one of the big shockers of the night.
The following week, they would again meet one-on-one with Austin out for blood,
but it would be The Kid walking away the victor this time. Austin had once again tried to use a chair on him, but
Walker dropkicked it into his face and rolled him up for the victory.
It would all come to a head the next month at Road To Perdition when Walker put his Extreme
title on the line in an "I Quit" match, where Stone Cold would once again look
to use a chair and nearly won the title as he choked Walker out with it. Raven would end up winning
the Fatal Four-Way, disposing of Austin before coming off the top rope to stomp the chair while Walker's head was still inside of it.
As a result, The Kid would suffer an injury so severe that he would not perform in a wrestling ring for a full year.
Stone Cold Steve Austin was a different man last year. He would do whatever it took to win and use whatever underhanded means necessary to do so. These days, it's a whole new attitude, happily getting cheers
and drinking beers while throwing birds up for crowds across the world. Johnny
Walker is also a different man -- no longer drinking alcohol but now trying to
prove to everyone in the PWF that he has the ability to impress in the ring
despite his lengthy injury. In less than three weeks, these two will meet in the ring one more time for one of the most prestigious titles in wrestling history. Who will prevail? Order
WrestleFest III to find out!
