Can King Booker help his queen score revenge on Maryse?
Wargames Scoop with Scoop Scoopson
Jun. 25, 2009
This is your Wargames Scoop for Jun. 30, 2009, coming to you LIVE from the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M.
- Queen Layla didn't get the kind of results she wanted this past week on Wargames when she was pinned by PWF Women's Champion Maryse, but this week she'll have re-enforcement in the form of King Booker. But Maryse will also have someone watching her back: "The Dark Patriot" Del Wilkes. In what will surely be a tremendous match, Wilkes and Maryse will fight King Booker and Queen Layla in a Mixed Tag Team match.
- Chris Benoit and Ted DiBiase sure do have a stange relationship. DiBiase claims to see eye-to-eye with Benoit, but Benoit isn't so sure. They've had some misunderstandings in the past, most recently at Recoil. At Wargames, the Million Dollar Man said he would take care of one of Benoit's biggest pests -- "The Olympic Hero" Kurt Angle -- in a show of support, but the Canadian Crippler has gone on record as saying that, no matter what happens at Wargames, he wants to fight Angle at Terminal Solution. It's without doubt that Benoit will be paying close attention to this match-up of savvy ring veterans.
- It was without much surprise that Shane Douglas chose Diamond Dallas Page to hold one-half of the World Tag Team Championship that he earned at Recoil. The two of them have been highly successful as champions in the past, and, with this being their third reign together as champions, expect more of the same. But will the returning Eric Bischoff permit the "Triple Threat Rule," which allows any two members of the Threat to defend the titles? It's something to pay close attention to as the World Tag Team Championship will be defended at Wargames.
- Many said that it would take months for the returning Diesel to get back into ring-shape and compete for a PWF championship, but after just two weeks, Diesel surprised the world when he defeated "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels to win the vacant Television Championship. Daniels didn't come away empty-handed, however, as Eric Bischoff announced that his reward for surviving at Recoil is a "365 Contract," meaning that Daniels can make a one-time, anytime, anywhere match, within the next year, or 365 days. These two superstars are bound to fight again, perhaps at Terminal Solution, but at Wargames, Diesel will defend his newly won title, and Daniels will talk about his Recoil reward.
- Eric Bischoff was clearly upset about what happened to the PWF while Bobby "The Brain" Heenan was in charge, but he's keeping one aspect of Wargames that Heenan used quite often, and that's the use of unscheduled matches. With only four matches announced for Wargames, it is apparent that Bischoff will look to sign at least one match on-the-fly in Las Cruces. You would have to look at PWF Champion Rob Van Dam, PWF Intercontinental Champion Raven, and The Rock as likely candidates to be thrust into action with very little notice due to Bischoff's latest whim.
- Last but not least, we are just a few weeks away from the summer-time spectacular known as Terminal Solution. In the past, we've seen some incredible matches there, including Raven winning the PWF Championship for the first time (2007) and the infamous "I Quit" match between Christian and Eric Bischoff (2006). This year, the stakes have been raised even higher than ever before. We all know about the Last Man Standing match between Rob Van Dam and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the PWF Championship, but what else is in store? Perhaps at Wargames we will get those questions answered.
Please tune in at 9 p.m. ET on FOX for another bruising night of PWF action -- the only way the PWF knows how -- on WARGAMES! See you at ringside!
