Created by The Academy of
Wrestling Arts & Sciences in the late-'90s, the Slammy Award is
considered to be professional wrestling's version of the Oscar –- only
bigger and even more prestigious. Categories, nominations, and winners are chosen very, very carefully, after much
deliberation, and Slammys are awarded to the most
deserving of these golden statues. In the past, both the NOWF and Supreme Championship Wrestling worked with The Academy to hand out Slammy Awards, as well.
