THE TOP 10 TAG TEAMS OF ALL-TIME
***Compiled by Panjabe Ishboo as part of an article for the Sept. 2005 issue of PWF Magazine.***

10 The Snipers (Riptide & Tigro; NOWF)
Of all the teams on this list, only The Snipers have never won tag team gold. They weren't about that. Riptide and Tigro were attempting to send a message to the wrestling world -- that they were ready for the big time. Together, they did that. Riptide would go on to win the NOWF Intercontinental Championship three times, and Tigro will always hold a pinfall victory over the legendary Taz.

9 Rated R (James Ace & Del Wilkes; SCW)
James Ace and Del Wilkes dominated the SCW tag team ranks for the first half of 1998, fending off challengers from every side. Had their singles careers not also been main event caliber, they might have remained a team longer and continued their dominance.

8 The Robbinsdale Mafia (Mr. Perfect & Rick Rude; PWF)
Mr. Perfect and Rick Rude are the sort of team that doesn't come along too often anymore -- they're actually friends, and they actually enjoy wrestling tag team matches. Rude's powerful style is the, if you'll pardon the expression, "perfect" complement to Mr. Perfect's smooth, technical style. Together, they're nearly impossible to beat, and, indeed, have only ever lost once, in a match rife with interference.

7 James Ace & Sean Gunn (SCW)
James Ace and Sean Gunn had most of their success prior to the late '90s wrestling boom period. However, they were a team for years and won the SCW Tag Team Championship on more occasions than any other team in history. For this alone, they earn their place on this list.

6 Fire & Ice (Booker T & Dean Malenko; SCW)
Booker T and Dean Malenko are one of the few teams in the world who can claim victory over Rated R. Much like today's Robbinsdale Mafia, their styles were in excellent synch with one another, and many consider them to be the top SCW-only tag team of all-time. Why aren't they higher on this list? Longevity. As explosive as they were, they were still around for less than a year. Had they continued as a team, there is no doubt they would be true legends.

5 Edge & Christian (NOWF/SCW/HWA/PWF)
What can be said about these two that hasn't been said already? They went undefeated in the SCW and HWA and spent the first two months of the PWF's existence defeating every team except for The Robbinsdale Mafia. They are living proof that two wrestlers who might not be considered top talents on their own can band together to achieve superstardom.

4 The Perfect Team (Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit; SCW)
These two hold the distinction of being two-time SCW Tag Team Champions without ever losing the titles in a match. Had Chris Benoit not departed the SCW and the Perfect Team in 2000, they might have continued to dominate the ranks until the last days of the company.

3 The Rising Storm (Excellence & Shadow Master; NOWF/SCW)
Seven times as Tag Team Champions is a tough mark to beat, especially given that Excellence and Shadow Master achieved this feat in a time when the SCW tag team scene was filled with such notables as Power & Glory, the bWo, James Ace & Sean Gunn, and the top two teams on this list. To not only survive but thrive in that environment took incredible ability -- and as we all know now, ability is something Excellence has in spades.

2 The Reign of Terror (Chaos & Death; NOWF/SCW)
Chaos and Death were never great wrestlers. They were two large men who had the ability to deal out a lot of damage to other men, and they enjoyed getting recognition for doing so. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with, and had they not retired in 2000 after nearly a decade of cracking skulls with their patented "Harbinger" DDT off the top rope, they would likely still be wreaking havoc today.

1 The Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus; NOWF/SCW)
These two were the only ones who could survive a battle with The Reign of Terror and even come out on top. They truly were what they said they were -- the best tag team in the world. Perry Saturn was a quick, powerful man, willing to put his own body on the line in any situation. John Kronus was, literally, insane. His barbed wire novelty crayon, "RED," was a fan-favorite, as were his death-defying leaps and flashy flying kicks. The Eliminators could go in any style their opponents wanted and usually better than their opponents could handle. Upon their retirement, NOWF chairman Johnny Asterix awarded them a special lifetime achievement Tag Team Championship, the only one of its kind.
