The NOWF North American Championship was the final title created in the NOWF, and so its identity was not quickly defined. It was, however, contested in what was arguably the biggest match in NOWF history: Taz versus Raven. Afterwards, the title migrated to the High Voltage program where it took on new life, defended each week. In recognition, NOWF president Johnny Asterix eventually coined it the High Voltage Championship.
