On Apr. 13, in Hershey, Pa., Excellence won a four-man Battle Royal featuring himself, Steve Austin, Brad Harris, and Samson Dempsey to become the No. 1 contender to Lance
Storm's PWF Championship. Instead of waiting until Power Trip, Excellence wanted the title match moved up due to the
prodding of Perfect Team ally Chris Jericho.
Eric Bischoff and Storm both agreed.
An encounter between two of
the PWF's finest athletes produced one of the most important main events in
Wargames history. With all of the Perfect Team and Team SEC at
ringside, interference was abundant. Despite surviving numerous underhanded
tactics by the PT, Storm could not overcome the odds. Excellence was able to
reverse Storm's patented Superkick into a Perfectbuster to secure the PWF Championship
for the PT and put an end to the Canadian Superman's three-week reign atop the
PWF.
Excellence's fourth World Championship would be his last, but there would be
quite an impressive reign ahead for the Franchise Player.
