MR. PERFECT PWF Champion Sept. 6, 2006 - Nov. 7, 2006
To say that Mr. Perfect was livid following his first loss in over five years
-- and the loss of his PWF Championship -- would be a huge understatement.
Almost immediately, he was back on PWF television, declaring that Del Wilkes
would NEVER truly beat Mr. Perfect, that luck had been riding on the side of the
Dark Patriot thus far, but that at Fall Battle Fields, the luck of Dangerous Del
would run out, once and for all. He promised destruction.
For his part, Wilkes reveled in his victory, declaring that not only had he
beaten Mr. Perfect, but that he OWNED the six-time World Champion as the only
man to have beaten him without suffering a loss in return. Wilkes pointed to
1998 and the legendary SCW bout between the two men as Exhibit A. He pointed to
his second victory over Perfect, just days earlier, as Exhibit B. Needless to
say, it was a confident Del Wilkes stepping into the ring at Fall Battle Fields
to square off against the flawless one. Just as confident, though, was the former
champion.
Just like every encounter between the two in the past, it was a back and
forth battle, with both men coming close to victory on several occasions. TDP
looked to end things with a superplex, but Perfect was able to fight him off,
sending Wilkes crashing to the canvas. Quickly pouncing into action, Mr. Perfect
went right on the attack, cinching Wilkes up for the Perfect-Plex ... and
hitting it. A three-count later, Mr. Perfect was the PWF Champion once again.
After eight years of having just a single blemish in the form of TDP on his
"perfect" record, Mr. Perfect was finally able to settle the score.
This would mark the seventh, and ultimately final, World Championship of Mr.
Perfect's storied career. Just days after defeating and retiring Perfect Team
co-founder and longtime best friend turned bitter enemy Excellence at
WrestleFest II, Mr. Perfect himself abruptly retired, along with Chris Jericho,
effectively disbanding the Perfect Team.
"There's never been anything like it
before ... and there'll never be anything like it again. PT for
life." -- Mr. Perfect's final words as a PWF Superstar
