RAVEN PWF Extreme Champion Feb. 15, 2006 - Feb. 22, 2006
Raven and the New Breed shocked the world and jumped ship -- legal or not --
from Valiant Championship Wrestling to the Professional Wrestling Federation on
Jan. 18 at King of the Ring. While setting their long-term sights on the Perfect Team, the short-term had
a different plan in store for Raven. There was a 24-Hour Open Challenge match on
the table, with Raven facing the first man to answer the call. That man? Former
New Breed member and current PWF Extreme Champion Riptide. Even though Riptide was already facing Breed member
Mike Flynn at Wargames on Feb. 1, he agreed to once again pull
double-duty.
Riptide would defeat Raven, but Raven won in his own way -- by powerbombing
Riptide through a glass pane after the match. Riptide would suffer
deep lacerations from the glass but would be ready to
defend his Extreme title at Aggression on Feb. 15. Amongst the seven men slated
to face him was -- as fate would have it -- Raven. Raven even managed to get a
match stipulation granted: the infamous Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal. A Flaming
Tables match was the result. After much destruction and devastation, only Riptide and Raven remained
standing in Atlanta. Raven still had one vile, sick trick up his sleeve -- a
flaming "STOP" sign. He would light the "STOP" sign on fire and level the
Extreme Champion with it, sending Riptide outside of the ring and through a
table. Less than one month after their King of the Ring debut, the New Breed had
captured PWF gold.
One week later on Wargames, Mr. Bischoff fired back at the invading New Breed
-- he announced that the Extreme title that Raven had just won was now defunct.
