BUFF BAGWELL PWF Television Champion Mar. 16, 2005 - Apr. 6, 2005
Mr. Bischoff signed an Evolution match
as the main event for the very first Wednesday Wargames. When the dust finally settled, only two men remained -- Buff Bagwell and
Masked Man 1. Despite numerous "tags" to Masked Man 2, who was hiding under the
ring, Masked Man 1 eventually decided he'd had enough of Buff Daddy. After
Masked Man 1 intentionally got himself counted out, Bischoff announced that the
Evolution match was signed with the sole intent of awarding the PWF Television
Championship
to the winner. Bagwell had just unknowingly become the first champion in PWF
history.
Unfortunately, he would also be the first man to disgrace a PWF championship.
Over the next few weeks, Bagwell would battle his way all the way to the finals
of an eight-man tournament, earning himself an opportunity to win the PWF
Championship in the main event at No Escape. He would come up short,
however, losing in the final round against Lance Storm. After losing the match,
in a fit, he threw the PWF Television
title into a trashcan and quit the Professional Wrestling Federation. Bagwell would later return to the PWF as a member of the nWo -- fitting, to
say the least.
