Right into his third reign, new champion "Diamond" Dallas Page was scheduled to defend his title in a Recoil match. An injury suffered on Wargames changed that, however, and was so severe that it was decided that the title would be put up for grabs on the Jun. 18 Wargames in a Battle Royal. Before the match actually happened, however, DDP demanded to compete. He refused to just watch his title be taken away without putting up a fight, and that he did. He would outlast seven other men in the Nine-Man Battle Royal, but one remained: a former Television Champion in Edge. They battled it out, and Edge nailed a Tilde Bang that sent Page falling through the ropes. He thought he had won in the heat of this moment, but Page clearly didn't go over the top. DDP got back in the ring and grabbed Edge during the celebration, running him right for the ropes and tossing him out ... but Edge landed on the apron. Page came charging over, only for Edge to yank down the top rope and send Page tumbling out and onto the floor. Edge was awarded the Television Championship for the second time in his career, unaware that the issue with DDP was not about to go away anytime soon.

EDGE
