MARYSE
PWF Women's Champion
Jun. 8, 2009 - Nov. 2, 2009

Maryse had seen more close calls than anyone when it came to winning the PWF Women's Championship. Whether it was near misses against the always-dominant Kimona Wanalaya or the nail-biter Battle Royal from Power Trip, she could never seem to bring the title to the New Breed. She, along with her fellow New Breed divas, would get an opportunity at Recoil where reigning champion Francine would have to defend the title in a New Breed vs. Triple Threat Recoil match comprised solely of divas. The tension had already been building between the two factions for a long time, and this chapter was the next of many in the war. Francine would find herself outnumbered towards the end, much like she had in the Battle Royal where she initially won the title, but she couldn't overcome the odds this time. After a superkick helped eliminate Alicia Rae, Francine was once again alone in the ring with rival Maryse. Maryse brought more of a fight than Francine was seemingly expecting, resilient enough to avoid a Perfect Plunge attempt and eventually hit the French Kiss to seal the win for the Breed. Not only did Maryse make history that night as the first woman to ever survive a Recoil match, but she also now finally captured the Women's Championship.
