Due to Steve Austin defeating Raven the week before, he was in sole possession of
the World Tag Team Championship. As was agreed upon for the winner of the contest, Stone Cold would award the titles to a tag team of his choosing the following week on
Wargames. On the Mar. 30 edition, Austin kicked off the program to discuss the title situation. In
a shocker, to prove that his match with Raven the week prior was nothing
entirely too personal, he agreed to give the championship back to the New Breed. Who did he give them to? Del Wilkes ... and Maryse. The immediate assumption
would be that Austin would've awarded the titles to former champions The Decline
of Civilization, but Austin thought his decision was the best way to mix things up.
Although a funny and shocking decision to those in attendance that night, the team of Wilkes
and Maryse would manage to remain champions for a little over two months.
